Thank you to everyone for helping us through our project, coming out and enjoying the beautiful weather out on our parklet, and listening to us ramble on about “Complete Streets.” The quest towards safer streets and sustainable communities is not nearly over. To make installations like these permanent features around our city, we need your help! You will be able to provide feedback on your experiences with Better Blocks and how the temporary installations affected you and the neighborhood. Watch for a survey – coming soon! Also please stay tuned on how we proceed with Better Blocks Philly in the future.

If you want BetterBlocks in your community, contact Katie Winkler @ 215.206.0842 or betterblocksphilly@gmail.com. We hope that you had a wonderful time and learned more than you ever imagined about healthy street design and traffic calming. We encourage you to rally your own neighborhood associations, local businesses, friends and fellow residents to get involved with community projects like these!

Special thanks all of you volunteers and heavy lifters, to Erica Smith, manager of the Philly Tree Campaign, “Tree Philly” & Fairmount Park for delivering trees this morning. Also thank you to Girl Bike Dog, BenchDog Design, and Philly Works for bringing in some last minute items to display and volunteering during set up! Also special thanks to Beauty Bar Cafe for lending us umbrella stands and Campbell Thomas & Co Architects for lending us a projector just a few hours before the event.

Please share your photos with us on Flickr. Some of us were too busy to take them!

Cheers everyone!

-Katie
